NiCole Lynch
NiCole Lynch joined UNC Charlotte in October 2015 to lead the development of internal and external communication strategies for the Facilities Management Department — among the most intricate was the Five-year Capital Construction communication plan. At that time, the University experienced unprecedented construction with over 40 Capital projects that included road and utility improvements, core campus building renovations, and new construction. Lynch’s work alongside FM leadership and staff to align communication efforts with the needs of campus partners and customers still guides her approaches to communication plan development. In 2018 her support expanded to include Police and Public Safety and capturing photos for a variety of Business Affairs special projects. In 2021 she joined University Communications and is currently responsible for leading extensive and complex communications projects involving multiple units across the university. In this role, her problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to connect people and ideas, help to drive complex projects forward.
A former freelance photographer, Lynch began working in higher education in 2004 and previously served as director of public relations for Morris College, where she served in a dual role as sports information director. These roles honed her abilities to think broadly and assiduously connect the dots among all aspects of the college and the community-at-large. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Morris College. A member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Charlotte Chapter, she serves on the Diversity and Inclusion committee.
