NiCole Lynch joined UNC Charlotte in October 2015 to lead the development of internal and external communication strategies for the Facilities Management Department — among the most intricate was the Five-Year Capital Construction communication plan. At that time, the University experienced unprecedented construction with over 40 Capital projects that included road and utility improvements, core campus building renovations and new construction. Lynch’s work alongside FM leadership and staff to align communication efforts with the needs of campus partners and customers continues to guide her approach to developing communication plans and other strategies. In 2018, her support expanded to include Police and Public Safety, as well as capturing photos for various Business Affairs special projects. She joined University Communications in 2021 and led extensive and complex communications projects involving multiple units across the University. In this role, her problem-solving skills, coupled with the ability to connect people and ideas, helped to drive complex projects forward.

In 2024, Lynch returned to the Division of Business Affairs as interim head of the Demonstration Activity Resource Team, and in 2025, she was appointed the first full-time person to hold this role. As the head of DART, she oversees the planning, coordination and execution of all demonstration activities on campus — collaborating with various departments and student organizations to ensure events are conducted lawfully and safely. Additionally, she leads Family Assistance Center initiatives in collaboration with the Office of Emergency Management.

A former freelance photographer, Lynch began working in higher education in 2004 and previously served as the director of public relations for Morris College, where she held a dual role as sports information director. These roles honed her ability to think broadly and assiduously connect the dots among all aspects of the college and the community-at-large. She earned a bachelor’s degree in English from Morris College. A member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Charlotte Chapter, she serves on the Diversity and Inclusion committee.
